Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease and a Rheumatoid Arthritis Diet can be helpful. The role of dietary factors in immune-mediated diseases are increasingly evident in particular it has been shown that foods can evoke immune responses in normal conditions with manifestations of autoimmunity, and these are certainly important in the pathogenesis of rheumatic diseases. In addition, numerous reports show the occurrence of anamnestic immunological diseases related to the ingestion of specific foods (eg milk products).

Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic inflammatory disease that affects the synovial membrane of joints, resulting in a volume increase that invades the cartilage, which is initially eroded and subsequently destroyed, the inflammation tends to involve all the tissues surrounding the joint, which is gradually consumed, causing pain and long term disability in sufferers.

The body, because of its weakness, can not completely eliminate these substances which accumulate. Often we reach the exhaustion due to poor lifestyle habits that use the nervous energy that could be restored only with long periods of rest and sleep. The body’s weakening inhibits the excretion, and increases the accumulation of toxins, it interferes with the nutrition and the metabolism undergoes changes that eventually lead to disease.

Some Natural  Remedies for Arthritis

There  many natural remedies against the Arthritis  pain, for example:

  • Some mush to be applied on the painful part:  chop parsley, onion, ash and  song. This mixture should be applied warm and should be left all night.
  • Frictions with oil You should friction with camphorated alcohol mixed with olive oil.
  • Sand: is one of the most popular summer remedies. After asking the doctor’s opinion lie on the beach and get covered with hot sand around your body so as to leave out only the head. Stay under the sand initially for 5 minutes and increase the time over the following days up to 12 minutes. To relieve strain on the heart try to do this every other day. If you do the sandblasting only on the part where you feel pain you can keep doing this for up to 25 minutes or more. Then wash under a hot shower, and after that massage vigorously the painful part Out of the sand you can drink a sip of brandy to withstand better the reaction.
  • Infusion of linseed: leave for one night a tablespoon of flaxseed in a glass of warm water with a little licorice. The day after you can drink this infusion against rheumatic pains.
  • The lemon cure: take lemon a day, in whatever form and whenever you want but not on an empty stomach for at least 2 months.
  • Ferns for cervical osteoarthritis: collect ferns in the summer, let them dry in the shade, put them in a cotton bag and sew. Keep the bag on the pillow and sleep with it all the night, it will relax the neck.

Rheumatoid Arthritis Diet

If you suffer from Arthritis, you should drink plenty of fluids, especially fruit juices that contain many vitamins and all foods that help kidney functions and that provide some nitrogenous substances. You should reduce bread consumption and replace it with potatoes or bran, they should avoid the meat and instead eat lean river or lake fish.

Try to eat white rice, avoid shellfish, spicy foods, the foods that are too seasoned, smoked foods and game foods. Among herbs and vegetables we recommend: vegetables, spinach, cabbage, lettuce, peppers, beets, carrots and celery in abundance. Avoid asparagus, turnips and green beans.

We recommend also non-fat vegetable soups with broth and tender leaves of nettle soup. Lemon juice and fruits are excellent, both raw and cooked.

A special recipe is a potato cake against arthritis: this cake is effective against arthritis because it is rich in potassium salts contained in potatoes.

Boil one liter of water with half a kilo of sugar. Cook, crush and sift a pound of potatoes, add potatoes to water with sugar dafter dissolving the latter. Add the lemon peel and leave on low heat until it reaches a certain size, then pour into a buttered mold and bake for 15 minutes. Leave in oven until cool. You can keep it for several days.
